Paris Report: Delights in the Windows to Keep Winter at Bay

A few pieces to remind us that the Paris shopping windows are always full of delights, whether its the perfect lace one shoulder dress for Spring,  or the silver tank that has ease and sleek lines, or a perfume to give you a whole new perspective on Spring.

Brocade and sparkle are carried over from the holidays into the upcoming season as well.  We'll continue to see mettalics, shine, sequins and all sorts of sparkle in the daytime that used to be
reserved for evening.  So, go ahead, enjoy the
sparkle and get ready for Spring.

Back to Fashion: What's Next?

Let's take a collective breather, for a moment.  Let's consider, the entire point, of Fashion, and why we love it.

Let's.....
  • Review
  • Refresh
  • Renew
The whole point, is to enjoy. Sometimes its color, or the beautiful fabrics, or the cut or fit.  Fashion makes us dream, aspire to be better, and creates a fantasy or entertains us.

Fashion Changes, but Style, is Classic.

Its a challenge to keep up the level of fashion glamour when you have so many awards shows to attend, what's a girl to do?  First of all, get some assistance, don't try this at home, alone.  Also, we can't help but notice, that girls, its a carpet, and its red. Why do so many stars insist on wearing the same color as the furniture, (e.g. the red carpet) the best looks are always those that are not matching the carpet they're photographed on !! It is astonishing that no one seems to get this, every time we see a red gown, competing for attention on a RED CARPET.

Many trends were present at the SAG awards, and we have a few winners here, pictured.  Trends like One shoulder gowns *(we're just about over that one), but the new trend is to take a chance on color, pure and simple color with beautiful fabric and shape. Our hats off to those who chose either a simple neutral, or a smashing shade that stands out from the rest, and on the carpet. Bravo.

Many dresses looked good, but this selection shows that all ages, shapes and sizes, can win on the red carpet. Some ladies here, have not always been on our top 10 list, but at this particular awards show, they all did well to keep it simple, glamourous and spectacular, no tricks, no big gestures, just beautiful elegance that makes a red carpet moment very successful.  Bravo Ladies!

Golden Glam at the Globes: Style on the Red Carpet

January means Golden Globes, and glamour on the Red Carpet.  Here's our picks for the most interesting choices, fashion risks and even, simple glamor that brings the Globes to their high point each year. These dresses are neutral in color, flatter the figure, and put the glam-o-meter needle at the top. What's the secret of this collection?
  • hairstyles that flatter with simple chic, not too overdone
  • simple bags and high style shoes for height and elegance
  • make-up chic has defined lips, or neutral lips, and glam eyes.
  • gowns that are figure flattering, and cut to perfection.
  • Jewels and bags that give an extra level of interest.

New Style Resolutions - 10 Ideas for the Fashion Impaired

After a year of sky-high platforms, Kate's hairstyles, red-carpet bloopers, extreme sales, its been a difficult year for fashion. But, the brave and glorious fashion followers among us will muster on, and we'll offer a few tips to get through this year, and the decade of Fashion we can look back on and laugh or cry, whichever comes first:

  • The decade of Uncomfortable shoes - if only we could abide by 6 inch heels...
  • The decade of too much 1970s and 1980s - we already lived through these, once.
  • The decade of Red Carpet Debacles - yes, we saw more bad gowns than we can count
  • The decade of Anti-aging-and I don't mean miracle cremes, we mean, Plastic Surgery
  • The decade of Outrageous taste standing in for Good Taste
We can only think of a few things we really thought were useful this past 10 years:
  • Vintage Fashions
  • Great Handbags
  • The black matte Tight or legging
  • Great Accessories to wear with above
  • Clothes that Travel
  • Better Fitting Jeans
  • Sexier Lingerie
  • Better Skin Care Products
  • Red Carpet as Entertainment
Next post we'll really have a real fashion story, right now, we're recovering from a decade of beauty, insanity, too many sales, and bad clothes.

Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend: Erica Courtney Gets Drop Dead Gourgeous

Attending a soiree is always nice, but one that is accompanied by a side of Diamonds is even better. Erica Courtney, who is known for her Red Carpet decorations of the beautiful Hollywood set, presented her goodies to get us excited for the holidays.  She was the true inventor of the Chandelier Earring, after Marie Antoinette, and her convertible version can be separated for day or evening and is truly the masterpiece in 18K gold and Platinum with an assortment of semi-precious jewels or diamonds you can choose yourself. This makes these truly affordable, and a great investment, as well, and even silver versions for those of you who prefer a more casual look, and Bohemian lifestyle.
